Sell Your Reprints Residual Income Make Money to Write About Your Kids for 4 99 This Week

Okay, I realize a lot of you are seeing this or getting this in your email inbox because you already have the ebook Make Money to Write About Your Kids: Get Published in Parenting and Family Magazines.

For those who dont know what it is, here is the description AND I want you to know that for the next FIVE DAYS ONLY it is on Kindle Countdown for only $4.99 ... which is half the normal price, which is always a steal. Youll see! If you hate it, get a refund! If you love it, get in touch with me, start writing, tell your writer friends and writer groups about this Little Engine That Could resource that has changed lives but remains still, sadly, under the radar. Heres how to purchase!

My bet is that quite often you read a magazine or online article and say to yourself, “I could have written that – and better!” So you write your essay or article. Then what? Where do you submit it? Do you give up at this point? I’ve seen it happen too many times. Your writing dreams are crushed and those paychecks are never going to show up in your mailbox.

Think of this ebook as your writing angel. It has 16 chapters of useful information before it dives into 239 paying markets, complete with submission email addresses, submission guidelines and pay information. This is the 5th edition of the ebook, and over the years it has been perfected to include not just regional markets such as San Diego Family, BC Parent, Orlando Family and more, but also has added national markets such as FamilyFun, BabyTalk, Parents, Parenting, Homeschooling Today and many more.

I have personally been published in 138 regional parenting magazines in print and online since publishing this resource, all while maintaining a home, a marriage and homeschooling. I love being able to be at home with my kids while also living my dream of writing and making money for my family. I can get my work done mostly while the kids sleep and then head out to the pool or to the zoo with them! I want other mom and dad writers to be able to realize their dreams, as well. And, of course, you dont have to be a parent to write for and sell your reprints to these regional parenting publications!

*Please email me at mommykerrie at yahoo dot com after your purchase so I can send you the FREE at-a-glance spreadsheet that simply did not look right on the Kindle format! It has all the magazines, emails, approximate pay and state.

You can find the list of publications I have worked with here: http://www.thekerrieshow.com/2008/03/cool-places-to-get-published.html

Skin and Much More About Your Health

Your skin is your body’s largest organ, larger than your heart or lungs or brain. Skin covers your whole body, from the top of your head to the soles of your feet. You could not live without your skin. Skin keeps germs and other harmful things out of your body. It keeps water, blood, and other fluids that you need inside your body.

You are always losing your skin and growing new skin. The outside layer of your skin is dead. It flakes off all the time. New skin grows to replace it.

LAYERS OF SKIN

Your skin has an outside layer called the epidermis. Under that is a layer called the dermis. Under those two layers is a layer of fat.

The epidermis protects the layers beneath it from minor scrapes, jabs, and sunburn. The bottom of your epidermis is always making new skin cells. The dead cells on the top of your skin are constantly dropping off.

The dermis is full of nerves and blood vessels. The nerves send signals to your brain when you touch something. The dermis gives your skin its toughness and strength. It also helps keep your body cool in hot weather and warm in cold weather. A scrape only bleeds if it’s deep enough to go through the epidermis and into the dermis.
There is a layer of fat under the dermis. This layer is thicker than both top layers of skin.

WHAT GIVES SKIN ITS COLOR?

The top layer of skin has a chemical called melanin. Melanin gives your skin its color. The more melanin you have, the darker your skin is. Patches of skin with extra melanin make freckles.

Melanin protects your skin from the Sun’s harmful rays. Your skin makes more melanin when you are out in the Sun. More melanin gives you a tan.

Melanin has its limits. Too much sunlight is bad for your skin. Harmful rays from the Sun can burn your skin. They can cause skin cancer.

WHAT IS HAIR MADE OF?

Hair is made of skin cells. A hair grows from a root under the skin. The hair grows up inside a shaft through the layers of skin. The part of the hair that you see is made of dead cells.

The color of hair, like the color of skin, comes from melanin. Melanin is made in the hair root. The hair of older people turns gray because the root stops making melanin.

The shape of the hair shaft gives you straight or curly hair. A round shaft makes straight hair. An oval-shaped shaft makes wavy hair. A comma-shaped shaft makes curly hair.

WHAT ARE FINGERNAILS MADE OF?

Fingernails and toenails are also made of skin cells. These nail cells are very hard. Nail cells start growing inside your fingers and toes. The cells die. New cells push the dead cells outward. This makes nails on your fingers and toes grow.

WHAT CAUSES PIMPLES?

Plugged pores cause pimples (zits). Pores are openings in the skin. Dead skin cells can plug up a pore. The plug can make a blackhead or a whitehead on top of the skin.

Pores allow oil to get to the surface of your skin. This oil is the kind that gives you oily skin, not the kind that gets made into gasoline. The oil keeps your skin and hair from drying out. Groups of cells called glands make the oil. Oil glands are almost everywhere in your body. There are many oil glands on your face and scalp.

The oil cannot get out of a plugged pore. Soon a pimple or a red lump forms. The red lumps can leave scars. Squeezing a pimple can cause a scar.

Doctors can help teenagers with lots of pimples. Doctors can give them medicine that will help make the pimples go away.

Have you ever scraped your knee or cut your finger? Scabs grow over scrapes, cuts, and other wounds that bleed. The blood dries and hardens. The blood turns into a scab.

New cells grow under the scab. The cells join up and cover the cut. When the skin is healed, the scab drops off.

A FINE PARENT (online)
afineparent.com
sumitha@afineparent.com
Guidelines: Write for us about Our Current Topic, which can be found online. Submit detailed outline by approximately the 4thof each month. I will let you know if your outline is accepted on approximately the 6th. The first draft of the full article is due by approximately the 13th. Payment will be made within 24 hours of receiving the final draft. Payment per accepted article is $100 + links + a shot at the annual bonus. (NOTE: This page is updated on the 1st of each month with a new topic and submission dates. Please sign up for notifications.) A Fine Parent is an online community for parents who believe that Great Parents are Made, Not Born. We focus on one topic each month that can help us become better people and better parents. Each week on the blog I publish one in-depth article related to the monthly topic. Initially, I wrote all the articles for this blog myself. After sharing a few readers stories and guest posts however, I realized just how much we can all benefit from shared wisdom and diverse voices. Hence this call for you to write for us. If you are constantly working on becoming a better parent, if you have a few hard-earned nuggets of wisdom under your sleeve, if you see another parent and instantly connect, AND if you happen to be a writer as well … boy, have we been waiting for you!

What We Look for In the Articles We Publish:
·         the article MUST offer practical and actionable advice/tips
·         the article MUST contain personal stories and anecdotes that connect with the other parents in our community (blah list posts won’t cut it)
·         the article MUST be written in web-format (well-organized; skimmable; short paragraphs; lists and bullets when possible; custom illustrations when possible)
·         the article MUST include references to books, research or other authoritative references (you can even link to articles on your own blog as long as it is relevant and offers value)
·         the article MUST be original and not published anywhere else before
·         the article MUST contain the mandatory “2-minute action plan” (contemplation/reflection questions) and the “long-term action plan” (specific action to take over the next week) sections at the bottom of the article (see the bottom of any article for samples)
·         Most articles on the blog are in the 1,500-2,500 words range. I prefer to stick to that range, but will make exceptions on a case-by-case basis.
By submitting the article you agree that if your article is published, I will retain the rights to republish or reuse the material in the future, of course with due credit to you. If you’re not familiar with the blog, please spend some time there to get a feel for it first. You may even consider joining our community and just watching what gets posted for a bit before you start writing for us.

How to Submit
·         Send me an email with the article outline before the deadline. Include as many details as possible to help me make an informed decision (for instance, mention any background stories that you plan to tie in, a list of the practical tips that will be included, references that will be used, any books that will be mentioned etc.)
·         If you have published online before, please send me a few links so I can get a sense of your writing style.
·         If your outline is accepted, send the completed article as a word document before the deadline.
·         Include the keywords “Kick-ass Article for AFP” in ALL your email subject lines. (I get a LOT of mail, so this is extremely important to ensure that you receive a prompt response from me).

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1.       I missed the deadline for this month, or this month’s topic does not resonate with me. Do you by any chance have a list of the future topics?
Yes, sort of. A Fine Parent has been evolving into a true community blog and the topics we cover now are picked by our readers through a survey. A link to the response from our latest survey is online, and that should give you an idea of what we will cover next.
2.       How do you notify me about the outline?
I do my best to notify everyone of (a) the receipt of the outline and (b) the final decision. It will help immensely if you include the keywords “Kick-ass Article for AFP” in ALL your email subject lines. I receive a lot of mails and those words are part of an email filter that marks your mails as important so I can respond in a timely manner.
3.       What kind of articles are more likely to get selected?
We’ve been doing this for a few months now, and a pattern is beginning to emerge. The articles that I end up publishing are the ones where I see that you personally relate to the topic you’ve chosen to write about and hence will be able to connect more authentically and genuinely with the reader. For instance, if you are writing about how to teach kids to be compassionate, then either you’ve had to deal with your child acting unexpectedly mean, or your child has been a victim of bullying. Also, the “lessons learned”/ ”what I’m trying to do”/ ”what is working for me now” parts of your article tend to be much more real and not a riff off of a few Google search results. Think of it … You are a parent too. Which one of these would you rather read—a preachy list of things of what you must do in any given situation, or a real-life account of what another parent did in a very similar situation, their thought process, the obstacles they came up against and how they triumphed?
4.       Can I submit more than one outline?
No. Please submit only one outline per month. See #3 above. I’d rather that the focus be on quality than on quantity, and you send me that one article about the topic that most resonates with you.
If you have not written for us before or if you’ve not been a member of our community for long, please use the suggestions below to send your first outline. Also, please be sure to pick something you have personal experience with—anecdotes, unique perspectives and lessons learnt are highly valued in our community (hashed up lists compiled using Google search generally don’t make the cut). If you can bring professional advice from your day job and apply it in a clever and practical way to this month’s topic, please do—these are some of the most highly prized articles we seek out!
Approximate pay: $100 per article via PayPal with the chance for a $200 bonus at the end of the year if your piece is the most popular.

Stay on Top of Sending Your Article Reprints Where Im Published This Month

So I wrote a couple of Mothers Day pieces. One on Mothers Day dilemmas and how to solve them and one on Mothers Day traditions. They did pretty well the first year then I let them rot. I am not the most organized person in the world but I try. Life gets going and I forget to send my articles out and often wish I had an assistant who could get in my face and tell me to send articles annually when they are wanted.

***Hmmm, I finally sucked it up and got a smartphone ... Im thinking I could grab all my article titles (there are over 75 at this point) and figure out when best to send them. At least the holiday-specific and back-to-school ones. I could plug them in my calendar somehow to remind me to send them out.

Anyway ... this year I grabbed the Mothers Day articles from my hard drive and sent each one out separately to all my contacts that are in my book since I was updating the book anyway. That one little action made me at least $250.

For two pieces I wrote years ago.

All I did was mass submit them. Not one at a time emailing, friend. Like blind carbon copy.

Some publications wrote me back and let me know they wanted to use my piece and what they would pay. Some I found while checking my name on issuu.com or Googling the article name. Some emailed me after they used it and let me know they were sending a check.

Where do I write? You want proof? Okey dokey. Palm Beach Parenting, San Diego Family, Calgarys Child, Central Penn Parent, Valley Parent Georgia, Western New York Family. Thats just this month that I know about.

Yes, I am telling you to buy my book. I make money using it 6 years later. I could be making a lot more money using it if I didnt have so many other things going on in my life. And dont think for a second that I take up all the space in these magazines. They needs tons of pieces every month and are dying for good content. There is success for all of us. Money for all of us. A writing career for all of us, writer friend!

Heres the book! You gotta get it and tell your friends! I make the same royalty whether you get the print or ebook version and I recommend the print version so you can mark it up and make changes to it.

UPDATES to 6th Edition of Make Money to Write About Your Kids

Please check back here regularly for updates to the 6th edition of Make Money to Write About Your Kids, as publications are always starting up and going out of business and making email changes!

Thats what great about the print edition of the book:  you can just cross out the ones that are out of business and add in the new ones! Then make sure to adjust your email submission list accordingly! Here we go:

Alamo Area Kids & Family ... do not submit. They are not a paying market and asked me to take them off my list for submissions entirely.

4/21/15 ... Solo Parent is not a paying market. If you would like to get some coverage and offer them a piece for free, go for it, but they do not pay. I apologize for adding them to the book without researching enough.

Parents Source is no longer publishing.

If you get bounceback from Omaha Familys email in the book, try lauren at hathawaypublishing dot net

Space City Publishing (several magazines): kim at spacecitypublishing dot com

Red River Family: working on getting publisher at redriverfamily dot com or laura at redriverfamily dot com to go through and asking their best email for submissions

Sacramento Parent: shelly at sacramentoparent dot com

Maritime Family relaunching fall 2015

Coastal Family: editor at coastalfamily dot com

Utah Family: I hate to do this but I am taking them out of the book. I find my articles in their publication, notify them and then it takes them forever to pay. I recently contacted some other writer friends and they had the same experience. Once writer has been waiting two years for payment. This is not acceptable. If you dont treat your writers well, you will find yourself with no writers! Ill be calling them.

Flagler Parent/Volusia Parent: I am hearing from other writers that they are finding their work in these magazines from recently to way back and were not contacted or paid. Submit at your own risk. Ill be placing a phone call today.

Hello, Darling (MOPS) does NOT pay but they have a large following of 120K with 60K Facebook fans so consider giving them one freebie

Treasure Coast Parenting: trying k.ferraro at tcparenting dot com ... I had two emails for her and believe that period makes a difference

Tidwater Parent is no longer in print so please delete them from your list

Offspring Australia is nonpaying

Good Life Family needs tween and teen articles but nothing about small kids, babies, toddlers, etc.

Richmond Family Magazine only uses local writers

Bay State Parent is not accepting submissions at this time

Baltimores Child try joanne@baltimoreschild.com

BlogHer ads for your blog paid social media

I love BlogHer so much. Every time I log on to deal with my ads or my social media touts (logging when and where I did social media for a campaign I get paid for), I always get sucked into the posts on the front page. Without fail there is something that catches my interest and I usually end up commenting and getting a great idea for an article or post of my own in the future with my own angle.

A few years ago I signed up to see if I could get BlogHer ads on my main blog, The Kerrie Show. They accepted me and sent me the paperwork via email and then, not having internet at home and not checking my other email account often enough, I dropped the ball and lost out. I re-applied, was accepted again and this time got in all my stuff despite my internet and fax challenges.

*Im not saying everyone with a blog will be accepted to BlogHer

What does all this mean? It means I have their ads on my blog. I dont make much on that but its based on views and not clicks so the more traffic I have the more money I make. Currently Im making about $5 per month from ads and thats based on not even 2K visitors per month. So if you have a decent blog with decent traffic, you could make some good money.

Then there are the social media projects. These pay $50 for 8 tweets or Facebook posts, usually. Sometimes theyll pay $25 for 4. Sometimes you can do a sponsored post for good money, or get involved in a Twitter party. This is where I make my money: from the social media posting. In February alone I was involved with about 5 programs at $50 each, which will pay via PayPal within about 45 days.

So theres my personal experience with BlogHer over the last few years. They dont want you to have other ads or rude content, but other than that you can post as often as you want. They like you to post at least 3 times per week.

Heres a good post out of hundreds, called On the Pursuit of Blogging Fame.

Give it a shot!

10 Reasons Why You Should Sell Your Vector Arts Online For Graphic Designers Only

All graphics designers in this world should sell their artworks online. Below are 10 reasons of why every graphic designers in this world should try and sell their artworks online. If you are new to this, I strongly recommend you to read the FAQ here to understand how everything works.

1. You already have the knowledge to draw artworks, and it is a waste not to use your skills to gain more income for yourself. I started out as a web designers, earnings $3000 a month, and now just after 6 months into microstock industry, I have earn an extra $2000 a month (even without doing anything anymore).

2. You dont have to convince anyone. I understand that the frustration we have as a graphics designers. We feel frustrated when our clients dislike our works and request for changes. However, in this industry, you only need to pass through the agency reviewers (which is always easy). Even amateurs with some simple buttons design can manage to sell their artworks online. Take a look at an artwork I did 6 months ago. Believe it or not, I have manage to made over $300.00 in just 6 months time with it. And the sales is still coming in. For the record, I have only spent 3 hours with the below artwork. This simply means, my 3 hours of work is worth $300.00 and it is still counting.

stock vector : Badge Sticker Set Vector

3. No marketing needed from us. Yes, microstock agencies in this world are huge companies. They are companies that worth over $50 millions. Marketing and advertisement campaign are done by them. They are the hypermarket, and we are the producer of the products inside. Joining these agencies will allow you to concentrate on your work fully and need not worry about no one buying it.

4. Your vector artworks will be on sale forever. Once you have successfully uploaded your works into these stock agencies, you can then sleep well at night and check on your earning the next morning everyday. No business can be better than this for a graphic designers.

5. You dont need a funding to start. This is not a big business whereby you need a significant resources to start. As long as you have a computer, vector illustration softwares, and skills, you can already start generating income. Read this page to learn more on how to start selling your vector online.

6. You dont need a partner. In fact, all vector artists should do this alone simply because you dont need a partner to start. This is all individual work, and you dont want to waste your time in discussion.

7. You work for your hobby. There is no obligations, regulations, or any commitments you need to put into this. Microstock agencies do not force you to do anything. You do it whenever you feel like doing it. For your information, some vector artists produce 1 artwork everyday, while the other... 20 a day depending on the skills and quality of the work.

8. The biggest dilemma of being a graphic designer is to chase for the money. Clients sometimes drag our money to a very long extent and at worst, they never pay at the end of the day. After 6 months into microstock industries, I have to clap my hand and give praise to how efficient they pay my earnings. So far, I have not receive any late payment or delayed earnings at all.

9. The longer you are in the industry, the bigger you are. Buyers love to buy back from you if you can consistently produce good artworks. When your portfolio becomes bigger, your chances of selling is also higher.

10. And lastly, you can work from home :)

For a start, I would recommend you to join the below 6 microstock agencies and get yourself to register as a contributor to them.

IStockPhoto
Fotolia
Dreamstime
GraphicRiver

They have consistently create sales for my works and best of all, it is in an uptrend.
I wish you good luck and may all the graphics designers in the world earn more.

Ohh, and before I forget, joining these stock agencies as a contributor is totally FREE.

Register as a contributor now :)
If you have any problem in the registration process, just ask me at this Facebook Discussion Board. I will try my best to help.

Your Financial Goals Needs and Wants

Ive been posting every month since May about my monthly income. You can check out Augusts here. I know yall love seeing how much I make and where, working only about 20 hours a week. There are writers who make double what I make in the time I work and there are writers who make half. We are all different.

As I get ready to post Septembers numbers, I wanted to take a moment to ask you about YOUR financial goals. Not your writing goals (like: I want to get published at XYZ magazine; I want to get out of the content mills, etc.), but your financial goals.

Are you writing to feed your kids? Are you writing to save for a Camaro? Are you writing to send your kids to do things they love, like for me its gymnastics classes. Also we are trying to remodel and need the money for that. My husbands income takes care of our necessities, but my income pays for extras, like the trip to SeaLife Aquarium and to Powell Gardens and for any mini vacations we might be able to take. And unexpecteds like lawn mowers breaking! And Christmas is just around the corner!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our trip to Powell Gardens last week in Kansas City

Do you want to make $100 per week for fun money? Or do you NEED to make $500/week to survive?

I hope some of my ideas help you to reach your goals. Theres plenty of work to go around! Id love to hear from you and support you!

Do You Procrastinate in Your Business

I have so many little business things to do that I keep putting off and they could each mean sales in two of the companies I work with doing direct sales. I should do them first thing in the morning when the kids are sleeping and I have a bit of brain power but I keep putting them off.
I need to send emails to the people who requested Jamberry nail wrap samples and let them know they were sent and that they can contact me at these different places. I need to send emails to all the people who requested samples from way back on to see if they tried their samples and if they would like to buy, party or join my team. Can’t hurt to ask; I’m just not asking.
I need to do the same with Younique, only anyone who tries a sample of that buys so no follow-up there … not too many samples sent yet but each one bought something.
I ordered thank you cards in bulk on ebay today so I can start writing thank you notes to past customers and include a freebie in each one! I love to show appreciation for my customers!
So often I put off doing things that I know will help me to be successful. Do you ever do that?

How to Get the Cash You Need for Your Business Quickly and Easily by Marc Charles

How to Get the Cash You Need for Your Business Quickly and Easily

May 30 2015

Greetings:

Money makes the world go round…..or is that love?

Well…..let’s just say money makes business go round.

One question I often receive is, “Do you have any money sources I could use”?

Most of the entrepreneurs know I’m not a big fan of borrowing money to start a business.

But sometimes money can help you expand a profitable business, get equipment, or branch out into other ventures.

On top of that, when you have access to capital you can acquire a business, develop real estate, buy manufacturing a plant or import products from other countries…to cite a few examples.

Today  I’ll focus on legitimate money and lending sources.

I’ve included links to angel investors, venture capital, grants, low (and no) interest loans and more.

Let’s get this party started…..and get the money you need!

There is a cardinal rule of successful borrowing and getting the money you need.

It is this……

Focus on the bank, investor or money sources which specialize in the type of loan you seek.

In other words, if a bank, investment firm or money source specialize in loans for real estate, then seek this source for real estate deals.

If a bank or money source specializes in business acquisition or expansion, then seek these them for this purpose.

Too often entrepreneurs approach a bank with a great proposal or executive summary only to be turned down.

For example, if you approach a small local bank for a loan to expand your import business the chances are slim to none of obtaining it.

What’s more, if you approach a Wall Street investment bank for a $40,000 auto loan, you’ll probably be turned down.

But….if you apply for an auto loan at a local credit union specializing in auto loans the chances are very high you’ll get it!

It’s important to focus on the bank or money sources which specialize in the type of loan you seek.

Grants follow this same logic….

The reason most grant proposals are turned down is because they don’t focus on grantor’s sole objective. If you want grant money to build your operation then build your proposal around the grantor’s sole objective (not yours).

One of my favorite money source gurus is Tyler Hicks. If you research his site, books and products you’ll see what I mean. I’ve been a subscriber to his newsletters for more than 15 years.

Philanthropists Hand Donate Cash for the “Right” Causes

Wealthy individuals enthusiastically hand over millions of dollars through foundations, to people and causes.

The “right cause” is a key to receiving money for your cause or venture.
The likelihood of receiving money from wealthy individuals to pay bills, buy a new car, or acquire a new boat is pretty slim.

But thousands of people, groups and organizations receive money from wealthy individuals by asking for it, or by promising to commit the funds to the “right cause”.

The late Percy Ross in Edina Minnesota was the founder of the “Thanks a Million” newspaper column. It reached millions of people every week. Individuals could write to Percy with their requests, and many of the requests were honored with an award.

Here are some wealthy individuals and organizations granting cash awards to the “right causes” on a regular basis:
