Astonishingly Low Winning Price For Gold Coin on Pricebenders !

I was monitoring tonights first ever Pricebenders Gold Coin penny auction tonight. I  was expecting the auction to go above $20 for the Chinese Panda gold coin (worth $83.55 USD).

As often happens when I "monitor" an auction, I keep working on other sites, blogs or forums or whatever, and get immersed in my work only to discover that the auction has finished! So much for my "monitoring"!

Thats what happened tonight, and the winner got hold of a Chinese Gold Panda coin for just $3.24 with free shipping thrown in as well. INCREDIBLE!!

If youd like to try and pick up some incredible bargains on the Pricebenders penny auctions, here is the link to the Pricebenders website (its free to join).

Yours, green with envy,

David Hurley

All About Making Money on Fiverr as a Proofreader Writer and More! WAHM

I stumbled on Fiverr.com in April of 2013 when I was looking for a way to make money from home online to pay off some mounting dental bills and other things and my husband had FINALLY given in and suggested we get Internet at home.

I was not disappointed. I immediately had a full queue of jobs and found that I could customize my gigs ... if I was not busy I could put my gig on a 1-day delivery time. If I was full up, I could change it to a 29-day delivery time to discourage new orders. Give it a shot. Its a versatile way to make money online.

Starting Out
I dont know if I just got lucky or what but people gave a newbie a try and soon I had good reviews coming in and more jobs. I was so busy at one point in 2013 that I was outsourcing, which was a total shit show (Im going with two words for shit show instead of making it one ... haha!).

I shut down my outsourcing situation and tried to keep up with the work on my own but soon had no life and my kids were eating too much fast food all summer. I got a bad review because I was hurrying through my work and it all went to hell for a while. It picked back up and then I overused Vacation Mode.

Just in the last few months I have gotten back on and made a decent income again. Ive done many different gigs on Fiverr besides proofreading so poke around to see what else you can offer. I put my delivery on at least 3 days so that keeps my orders low enough to manage. The main guy who does 24-hour delivery basically works full-time all day long doing small jobs. The client is charged $5 and you receive $4. At first I thought that was robbery but now I realize THEY are finding the clients for me pretty much so I will happily take my $4 for proofreading 1,500 words. I got more orders when my gig was for 2,000 words but it was taking too long to proofread that for $4 with so many non-native English speakers sending projects my way. Those projects just take longer because they require more time and reworking.

I have some Fiverr tutorials here on different topics:

How to get started as a proofreader on Fiverr

How to get started as a writer on Fiverr

Other gigs you can do on Fiverr

Payment and competition on Fiverr

Giving and getting feedback on Fiverr

Offering good customer service on Fiverr ... or anywhere

Offering Good Customer Service on Fiverr or Anywhere

I was so excited to see that I was the #3 rated proofreader on Fiverr after only being on a couple of months. (The new Fiverr has come out, though, and I cant figure out how buyers can search by rating, which has slowed my business considerably).

I want to share how I do this, and its really very simple.

1. Deliver on time.
2. Communicate part one. If you cant deliver on time, let the buyer know.
3. Communicate part two. Put on your gig if you will be on vacation or taking some time off and that your delivery time has been extended.
4. Be fair. If you, for example, lower your proofing word count that you will do for one gig, give previous buyers the same rate you always gave them. Keep track in Excel.
5. Good customer service. Deliver more than you said you would. If I am proofing a book that is already on Amazon, I like to post a review as a bonus for the buyer. If I am to pin one image for one gig, I like to pin more than that if the content is well in line with my Pinterest followers.

What are your secrets to WAHM success?

Why I Offer My Ebooks on KindleUnlimited for FREE

I love logging in to my Amazon Kindle KDP Select account and seeing a surprise! 408 pages read in my ebooks on Kindle Unlimited in one day after days of zero pages read. Theres something about Sundays ... I always see my numbers spike then. I love offering that option for those who don’t want to buy it and who pay $10 a month like I do to download 10 at a time for free for rent! We can do all kinds of research for books and articles for only $10 a month! We can download all the fiction we want, all the DIY we want.

Read one, return it, get another. Always have 10 at a time!

Theres something like a $12 million fund and the more KU pages read of my books, the bigger my monthly bonus. It’s like icing and another way to make money and I love it. Someone might not want to buy my book or clutter their Kindle with it forever but they want to borrow it and so I make that available.

I also love supporting other writers, knowing they are getting a bonus for me downloading and flipping through or devouring their books. I always try to leave a review before I return the book, unless it was too horrific then I try to not leave one of those 1-star reviews. I might instead track the author down personally and offer some suggestions for improving the book, especially if its nonfiction, since thats the genre I write in.

If you want to check out my current book offerings on Amazon, just follow this link! Its my author page and the one book that only shows paperback is also, of course, available on KU or you can buy it right now for only $2.99 since Im working on the update!

Stay on Top of Sending Your Article Reprints Where Im Published This Month

So I wrote a couple of Mothers Day pieces. One on Mothers Day dilemmas and how to solve them and one on Mothers Day traditions. They did pretty well the first year then I let them rot. I am not the most organized person in the world but I try. Life gets going and I forget to send my articles out and often wish I had an assistant who could get in my face and tell me to send articles annually when they are wanted.

***Hmmm, I finally sucked it up and got a smartphone ... Im thinking I could grab all my article titles (there are over 75 at this point) and figure out when best to send them. At least the holiday-specific and back-to-school ones. I could plug them in my calendar somehow to remind me to send them out.

Anyway ... this year I grabbed the Mothers Day articles from my hard drive and sent each one out separately to all my contacts that are in my book since I was updating the book anyway. That one little action made me at least $250.

For two pieces I wrote years ago.

All I did was mass submit them. Not one at a time emailing, friend. Like blind carbon copy.

Some publications wrote me back and let me know they wanted to use my piece and what they would pay. Some I found while checking my name on issuu.com or Googling the article name. Some emailed me after they used it and let me know they were sending a check.

Where do I write? You want proof? Okey dokey. Palm Beach Parenting, San Diego Family, Calgarys Child, Central Penn Parent, Valley Parent Georgia, Western New York Family. Thats just this month that I know about.

Yes, I am telling you to buy my book. I make money using it 6 years later. I could be making a lot more money using it if I didnt have so many other things going on in my life. And dont think for a second that I take up all the space in these magazines. They needs tons of pieces every month and are dying for good content. There is success for all of us. Money for all of us. A writing career for all of us, writer friend!

Heres the book! You gotta get it and tell your friends! I make the same royalty whether you get the print or ebook version and I recommend the print version so you can mark it up and make changes to it.

How to Make Money on the China without Moving to Beijing by Marc Charles

How to Make Money on the China “Boom” without Moving to Beijing

7:01 AM

Dear Friend:

I realize China has seen better days. Today.....the debt, corruption, manipulations, lies, deceit and everything else is rampant.

Whats more, China has been in the news again. This time its about dumping the dollar, threatening Google and forcing a two-child limit for families.

But, one thing is NOT in jeopardy….Chinese imports and exports. Billions of people need a lot of stuff.

On top of that, Chinese companies are bending over backwards to do business with the west, they need to move exports.

I discovered a business that taps into the China miracle with at least six things going for it:

·       It’s easy to understand (and get off the ground)

·       It doesn’t require a boatload of cash to start

·       There are no employees (unless you want them)

·       It capitalizes on a very profitable expanding market

·       There is almost NO red tape (in fact, I’ll show you a site where you can get started today with no hassle)

·       Profit potential -- huge demand market (even in the current depression)

I’m referring to importing and exporting.

Now hang on……

I know what you’ve heard.

But hear me out.

You’ve never seen this side of an import export business before.

I promise.

The proverbial bottom-line…..

You can import products for pennies or dimes on the dollar and resell them on the Internet at huge markups.

My friend Valerie Johnson started importing pajamas in 2006, with the same tools I’m showing you today, and she did more than $1 million in sales last year.

On top of that, Valerie was invited to the top Academy Awards after party to hand out her pajamas….she made life changing contacts!

You can also import products for wholesalers or retail businesses and chain stores. And you don’t have to be a retail expert or store inventory in your garage. I hate inventories because they can become obsolete overnight! That’s why Walmart uses sophisticated on-demand inventory systems.

On top of that, entrepreneurs have discovered an easy way to become a middleman (or woman) and broker deals for other companies. I love this angel!

I’ll show you how to cut through the BS and get this business up and running quickly.

One Big Flaw in This Business

You probably heard about Chinese toy exporters in the news.

A few companies were in news because of the lead content in their toys.

One company got really hot water because a chemical converted into a dangerous drug when swallowed was found in a product called AquaDots.

Not good.

This was a terrible turn of events. Products like this should be yanked off the shelves! AquaDots and about a dozen other products were wiped from the face of the earth!

Lawsuits from stuff like this can happen. That’s a flaw.

But when you look out how many products are imported from China, these incidents are extremely rare.

What’s more, the toy market is a small slice of the multi-trillion dollar importing pie.

The demand for imported products is accelerating at breakneck speed!

And there’s no slowdown in sight.

For example, last year China became the top importer of whole milk powder.

Whole milk powder is a powder made from dried (dehydrated) milk solids.

Powdered milk has a longer shelf life than liquid milk and does not need to be refrigerated because of the low moisture content.

Anyway, China is the second largest importer of milk powder and the demand for this stuff is growing like wildfire.

Experts have said China’s imports will increase by more than 12 percent in 2012.

And that’s just the beginning!

Exporting is red hot too!

Despite all of the news about a recession and depression, Canada, Mexico, China, Brazil, and Australia are importing products from the U.S. to the tune of more than $35 billion a year, with no slowdown in site.

Combine all this with a new site called Alibaba.com.

Think of this as the Rise of Alibaba.com and the New Entrepreneurs!

Alibaba.com is the largest and most successful import/export marketplace for entrepreneurs in the world. It is currently ranked among the top 500 websites on Alexa.

But that’s not all…. Alibaba.com has more than 25 million members in 200 countries!

The company has offices in more than 30 cities in China (including Hong Kong), Europe, and the United States. And it was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange two years ago.

Alibaba.com founder Jack Ma is planning on buying Yahoo!

Here’s what Jack said in a recent interview:

“Our focus is on helping small and medium-size companies make money. We never copied a model from the U.S., like a lot of Chinese Internet entrepreneurs did. We focused on product quality. It has to be “click and get it” …or its rubbish.”

This is only the tip of the iceberg

Although Alibaba.com facilitates more than $5 billion in import/export transactions each year, this still leaves trillions of dollars in business on the table.

Thats right: T-R-I-L-L-I-O-N-S.

The worldwide import/export market is a multi-trillion-dollar marketplace.

It’s a virtual waterfall of cash.

It is one of the great new opportunities for entrepreneurs.

But you need to understand how the game is played.

The Alibaba.coms system teaches you how to play the game better than anywhere on the Internet.

More importantly, Alibaba.com receives monster traffic with importers and exporters just like you. It is much more targeted eBay.

How to Make Money with Alibaba.com Right Now

One of the fastest ways to hit the ground running and start making money with Alibaba.com is to understand which products are already moving or in-demand.

The fastest way to find high demand products is to review the Hot Products section on Alibaba.com or Google Shopping.

The Hot Products section on Alibaba.com features products which are moving quickly.

On Google Shopping you’ll see a list of items recently searched for by consumers and purchased.

You can also identify hot products on eBay, Yahoo! Stores, Amazon.com, Overstock.com, and Newegg.com.

And don’t forget our good friend Mr. Wal-Mart. Whatever products you see listed on the main Wal-Mart.com page are probably selling like hotcakes.

As you probably know, most of the products for sale at Wal-Mart are imported from China, Vietnam and Thailand.

Heres a list of 40 top-selling, in-demand products priced under $50 on Google Shopping, Amazon.com, and Wal-Mart.com.

How Payment and Competition Work on Fiverr

So how does payment work on Fiverr? And how is the competition?

Well, the competition is pretty good but if you keep going and do well, you remain at the top of the pack in the HIGH RATING search. Just make sure you are always providing excellent service and are delivering on time. I have personally made friends with another high-rated proofreader on Fiverr and am so grateful to have met her!
Payout is anytime you like and there is a small fee to take out your money, probably to cover any PayPal fees Fiverr has to deal with. I usually wait until Im at $100+ and they only take $1 from that. You can clearly see EXACTLY when payments are going to be processed on your dashboard, so a gig would generally pay within 2 weeks. It’s cool to see that a gig you did last week for $32 is going to be paying out this week on Friday or that a bunch of $4 gigs you did are all hitting tomorrow, ready for payout. I have never had a problem with getting paid. Other options include a Fiverr Revenue Card and direct deposit.
BEWARE: Its rare but sometimes you have to deal with some douche who never intended on paying you for your services, no matter how well you delivered them. A downside of Fiverr is that they have such a high volume of sellers and buyers that they just automatically believe a buyer who is not satisfied and refund their money. Thats not such a huge deal to shake off if it was only one or two gigs, but if it ever happened that someone reneged on a huge job and Fiverr backed them, I would have to quit working for them.

Other Gigs You Can Do On Fiverr

So what else can you do on Fiverr.com besides writing and proofreading
Well, I personally branched out with gigs like these:
selling ebooks (didn’t work out)
giving advice on writing for regional parenting magazines
writing blog posts for posting on my own blog
creating a dynamic table of contents for an ebook for Kindle
doing book and app reviews
doing social media (Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest) since I have a decent following on each of those platforms. Its good to try new things!
Gigs Ive purchased include gigs for ebook covers, Facebook fan page covers, home-made marshmallows (shipped) and these cute little cube animals (shipped) for the kids. Think Etsy meets EVERYTHING!
Head on over to Fiverr.com to see what everyone has to offer and what you may be able to offer, as well! There are 9 main categories of gigs and then there are sub-categories from there.
Next I’ll be talking about getting positive feedback from customers and how the pay structure works.

What Ive Been Working On Another Free Ebook!

So heres what Ive been working on instead of posting scintillating updates all the time. Its my latest ebook, The Kerrie Show Takes on Christmas and its free 9/26 through Sunday, 9/29/13. Heres the link, friends! They say you need 5-7 ebooks on Amazon to start seeing a financial difference and this is #4 for me, which means ...

... its self-sabotage and procrastination time, people!

Just kidding, I think.

You dont have to have a Kindle to get it. Heck, I dont even have a Kindle and I write for Kindle. They have a Cloud reader so you can read things on your computer. They have some sort of app so you can check stuff out on other devices. After you get my ebook, put "free ebooks" in the search box and see if anything else strikes you! Heres the description:

Wanna Rock Christmas With Your Kids?

Find out how to do the set up a Christmas budget now (as well as other ways to stay out of debt over the holidays), new traditions to start (driving around looking at holiday lights while playing silly music and sipping hot cocoa), how to handle other people’s expectations, how to green your holidays and top it all off with a reinbeers “craft” and 4 recipes (3 of them are “craftipes” … a craft you can eat!).

“The Kerrie Show Takes on Christmas” is about the humorous journey of parenting through a major holiday. It’s full of fun, tips, advice and ideas so you can make this holiday season the best one ever. No matter what religion you are, there is something in this book for you!

My hope is that youll download it, love it and then come back to leave me a glowing review.

I cant wait to hear what you think! Thanks for reading and Merry EARLY Christmas!

We require First Electronic Rights and the right to archive the article indefinitely. After one month from the date of publication, rights revert back to the author. Although we support you in republishing your article in other online and print publications, we request that you not syndicate your article on sites that provide free content. This practice lowers the value of the piece we have published, and using those sites strips you of your rights to your own article.
By submitting your work to WOW!, you are agreeing to these rights and terms.
Compensation:
WOW! pays on publication by PayPal or check. When your submission is published, you will receive a “live link” email notification. When you receive the notice, please reply to the email with an invoice that includes your social security number and payment preferences.

In the subject line you MUST include the words "Submission” or “Query.” Because of the high volume of spam we receive daily, emails that are not clearly addressed with the appropriate subject line may be deleted without being read.
Editorial Response:
WOW! has grown exponentially since its launch September 2006. While we are excited by the incredible interest and wonderful submissions from so many talented freelancers, we have found the need to amend our editorial response procedures.
We receive hundreds of queries every month and can no longer respond to every single query we receive. We will respond to freelancers whose queries show WOW!spirit, knowledge and understanding of our audience, a solid, fleshed-out article or interview idea, and which fit into our editorial calendar.
We have set up an auto-responder to let you know your submission has been received. However, if you do not hear from us, please understand that it is not a disparagement against your writing, it is most likely that your submission does not suit our needs at this time.
Helpful Hints:
Study previous issues and take note of our tone and style. Consider the contents and structure of our various sections: Feature Articles, Feature Interviews, How2, Inspiration, etc. Once you have a feel for what we publish, consider your own expertise and interest.
We are looking for queries that have a fully fleshed-out idea, a rough breakdown of the content of the piece you are proposing, and any sources if applicable. Please also include your bio, writing samples, and any other information or links you feel are appropriate for our consideration.
Do not send an email containing nothing but links. We will not follow them across the web to seek your writing samples. Choose your best and most appropriate sample to include in the body of your email. (Yes, we know it will be a long email.)
If you arent sure your piece will fit WOW!, query and let us look at it.
Send email to:
submissions[at]wow-womenonwriting[dot]com
Please format your submission in “web friendly” 14pt Verdana font, single-spaced lines, block paragraphs, with one space after periods and other ending punctuation.
Response times vary but we try to get back with you within 2 months. If you havent heard anything after that time, please query and mention your submission.
Good luck! And we look forward to your submissions.

Update on My Tracking Spreadsheet for Time Money

Last week I posted here about how I need to start keeping track of my income and stop screwing around online so much. Then I posted here about taking a Facebook Fast, or at least turning off the notifications that flood my email inbox.

You wont believe how my little productivity experiment went. It was a real eye-opener!

Against my better judgment Im going to go ahead and post this picture. Its grainy and small but you will at least get the idea of how I set up my spreadsheet and if you get out a magnifying glass you can read the numbers! I apologize that I dont have graphic design skills.

Basically what this is saying is that I only worked 24.66 hours last week, made $682.17 and averaged $27.66 per hour.

1. This is the most I have made in a week since I started doing this in earnest back in April.

2. I feel like I worked a lot less than usual. Having to track my other made me cognizant of when I was messing around.

3. About 25 hours of working allowed me to have lots of fun with my kids, complete my chores and do somewhat of an overhaul of the "playroom" ... resulting in getting rid of 2 bags of things from the house. Progress!

This week proofreading has died down significantly so Im focusing more on creating original content and on the house/kids. I dont know if Ill be able to make that much in a week again, but I was surprised that I could. If I worked at that rate of income for 40 hours per week for 52 weeks per year that would be a salary of:

$57,532

Not too shabby!

Book Review Gigs for Clients on Fiverr

*Im not going to get into with you if this is ethical or not. It is happening and that is all. As long as someone is not providing you with review text and you are giving your own honest review, I dont see a problem with this. You are being paid for your TIME, not for a 5-star review. I personally always feel smarmy asking for a review on any of my own ebooks for free ... someone is spending their time to check out my book and I feel like they should be compensated.

Okay, that being said, there are a lot of companies and authors looking for book reviews. Product reviews are a different animal and I would not do one of those unless provided with the product.

Heres my personal experience with doing book reviews for Fiverr clients: It was too busy and I could not keep up! Then someone reported me or something and I got shut down. Fiverr shut down my book review gig and wont let me even put REVIEW in any of my gigs anymore. Im not sure how this highly successful Fiverr seller has gotten away with it for years but see how she words her gigs. Remember that when you are first starting on Fiverr you cant offer the EXTRAS like she is doing ... I believe you can do that after about 30 days. Then its nice to be able to charge an extra 2 gigs for 24-hour turnaround if you are able.

For now you can charge one gig for the review and another gig for any ebook priced up to $4 and a third gig for any ebook priced up to $8 (Fiverr takes 20% of your sales so keep in mind you get $4 per paid gig and not $5). You keep any overage. You simply purchase the ebook on Amazon, peruse it, speed read, whatever, and give a review. If there are ever any problems with getting paid from a buyer, simply go back to Amazon and request a refund for your ebook purchase.

The seller I referenced above, plus all the others doing this, must be speed readers or have a lot of time on their hands as shut-ins or something???? I cant figure it out and let me know if you can! I wish you success at whatever you try on Fiverr!

*Do not give 24-hour service for free and do not pre-write a review until you have been paid, no matter how big a hurry you are in. There are people/buyers on Fiverr who are looking for free work and will threaten to give you bad feedback if you dont cancel their order and give it to them for free. Trust your instincts on jobs like this.
