Get Rich and Stay Warm This Winter by Marc Charles

Get Rich and Stay Warm This Winter!
A Unique Business Makes Money No Matter What Happens to Price of Oil

7:11 AM

Dear Entrepreneur:

A check was made out to me for $12,314!

I stared at the stupid thing for almost a minute.

This was my second check in this silly business.

Now….don’t call the “authorities” claiming I promised you instant riches with absolutely no risk whatsoever.

Come on…..that’s not honest.

There is MAJOR RISK involved in this market and business.

But there are ways to protect yourself, or even get involved on a small scale, and this should help you reduce the risk.

What’s more…..

There are ways to approach this market and business that’ll give you an “edge”.

One “edge” is to know the market by researching and studying it like a professional, not a weekend gambler or football junkie.

I’ll show you how reduce your risk (and in some cases eliminate it) and make money at the same time.

But first it’s important to realize this market is highly leveraged.

That means you can put up a little money in the form of “margin” and leverage or parlay this amount into big gains.

In fact, the futures market is the highest leveraged market in the world…period!

And don’t kid yourself….

You could lose your initial investment in this market and MORE!

So….study, research and learn from savvy professionals.

The market and business I’m showing you today is heating oil futures.

So let’s get started………

There are two basic groups of people in this market:

·        First Group:
Large professional traders, money managers, mutual funds and institutions (like banks, oil companies and insurance companies)

·        Second Group:
Small speculators, traders, investors and beginners

One challenge in this market is to understand how it moves.

But there’s a closely guarded money making secret I’ll share with now.

Everyone has access to the same information, statistics, charts, and advice.

But novice traders and investors will trade anything that moves.

As soon as a stock, currency, commodity, or real estate property moves to a new high, everyone wants to buy it!

What’s more, novice traders jump from one market to another seeking the next “big” deal.
I knew a wildly successful futures trader when I started in this business. He said something I’ll never forget:

“You could lose several fortunes if you don’t focus on a specific market”

In other words, when it comes to trading futures (or anything for that matter) it’s better to focus on the nuances of the market you are trading.

Most new traders do NOT take the time to gain an understanding of each commodity market.
New traders don’t take the time to watch how it moves, trading ranges, cycles, or seasonal changes.

Novice traders don’t have a clue where the “Big money” is in a market (these guys control large sums of cash…think hundreds of million or billions).

And that’s not all……

The heating oil market is super easy to learn!

For example, let’s say you expected heating oil prices to rise during the winter months (which it often does but it’s tricky).

Let’s say that you purchased one March heating oil contract “at the market” (this means at the current prevailing market price) at 2.05.

Your expectations proved correct and the heating oil market moves up to 2.65 over the next few weeks.

Now you decide to sell one March heating oil futures contract “at the market” and grab in your profit.

A heating oil contract on the NYMEX exchange consists of 42,000 gallons.

When you opened the trade and bought one heating oil contract it was worth $86,100 (2.05 x 42,000 gallons = $86,100).

A couple of weeks later when you sold this contract “at the market,” it would hypothetically be worth $111,300.

In this example you would have made a profit of $25,200 (less commissions and fees).
That’s a lot of money for most people including me.

But for some people $25,000 is chump change!

Some of the traders, money managers and companies who participate in the heating oil futures market trade hundreds of contracts

In this example, if you traded 100 contracts on this same pricing move it would have meant 100 x $25,000 or $2.5 million!

Let’s come back to planet earth…..

In order to trade a heating oil futures contract you’ll need to make a deposit – this is referred to as margin.

The required margin fluctuates daily - but for heating oil it’s currently around $1,000.

Heating Oil “Cheat” Sheet

Heating oil is a flammable liquid petroleum product normally used to fuel furnaces and boilers.
It’s similar to diesel fuel. Both of them are referred to as distillates.

Heating oil is also known throughout North America as No. 2 heating oil. The market receives a lot attention every winter.

In finance, a futures contract is a standardized contract, traded on a regulated futures exchange.

This is the easy part….

A contract is an agreement to buy or sell an underlying commodity at a certain date in the future, at a specific price.

The future date is called the delivery date or final settlement date.

The pre-set price is called the futures price. The price of the underlying asset (in this case heating oil) on the delivery date is called the settlement price.

A futures contract gives the holder the obligation to buy or sell.

This differs from an options contract, which gives the holder the right, but not the obligation

Options are an entirely different market, but they are another way to greatly reduce your risk.
I’ll cover some interesting option opportunities in the weeks ahead.

An important thing about futures contracts…

Both parties of a "futures contract" must fulfill the contract on the settlement date.
The seller delivers the commodity to the buyer.

Or, if it is a cash-settled future, then the futures trader who sustained a loss transfers cash to the one who made a profit.

To exit a commitment prior to the settlement date, the holder of a futures position has to offset his position by either selling a long position or buying back a short position, effectively closing out the futures position and its contract obligations.

The majority of futures contracts are exited before the settlement date.

Most traders in the heating oil futures market have no intention of taking physical delivery of the commodity.  This is a major point.

The only companies interested in taking a physical delivery of heating oil are those involved the heating oil business.

You can watch heating oil futures prices on all of the major financial news networks, such as Bloomberg, CNBC, Fox Business, BBC, and others.

You can also track heating oil futures on the top financial websites, such as Google Finance, Bloomberg.com, CBOT.com, FT.com, Yahoo! Finance and others.

How to Make Money with Heating Oil Futures

One of the best ways to make money by trading heating oil futures is to avoid losing money.
This isn’t a play on words or a tricky trading rule!

In my experience avoiding losses has been a very big deal. You could become very rich over time if learn HOW to avoid losses and let your winning trades run wild.

As I showed you earlier, the heating oil futures market is easy to understand and even easier to trade.

However, just because winter is around the corner and temperatures are expected to reach historic lows (rumors) this doesn’t mean the price of heating oil futures will rise.

In other words, it takes a little effort and research to understand how the heating oil market works

We need to understand the “ebb and flow” of the market.

Historical price charts are a great way to do this!

Here are two places to obtain

Seriously Get Paid to Cruise by Marc Charles

7:01 AM
Hi Guys:)

There are several ways to GET PAID to go on luxury cruises.

There are also dozens of ways to get DEEP discounts to places like Bermuda, the Caribbean, the Bahamas and even the Mediterranean.

I hosted a startup venture cruise recently and received $4500 for my services plus luxury accommodations. Sweet.

Cruising is expensive!

A 7-day cruise to the Caribbean can set you back $2500-$5000 per person (and up).

But some people don’t mind paying full retail, like my sister. She’s on a cruise as I’m writing this. The cost for the ticket and transportation was about $4,200.

I’ll show you how to get paid to cruise, and how to get DEEP DISCOUNTS if you don’t want to work.

On top of that, you won’t be forced into “off-season” trips, or third rate ships sailing into pathetic port-of-calls.

This has nothing to do with winning contests or sitting through ridiculous time-share promotions.

I’m talking about luxury cruises onboard some of the coolest ships on the planet!

And that’s not all……

In some cases your meals, entertainment and amenities will be included.

I’ll even show you how to stuff your pockets with savings of $1500 (or more) for your friends and family!

So lets’ get this party started…

The cruise industry has taken a big financial hit over the last 24 months.

Cruise experts claim the worst is over, and people are cruising again.

But the truth is the cruise industry has not recovered from the recession, the collapse in housing (mainly home equity lines of credit) and the plunge in the stock market.

For the first time in history luxury ships are sailing half full!
In some cases ships are running at 40% occupancy!

Mega-cruise ships like Genesis and Oasis of the Seas need 85% occupancy make money (according to a senior cruise director).

Cruise companies are extending huge discounts in an effort to turn things around.

Now don’t worry…

I’m going to show you how to cruise for FREE!

But I wanted to give you some insider’s secrets for getting great discounts for your family and friends too.

Internet travel “integrators” are offering 20- 45% off luxury cruises.

Travel integrators resell cruise packages to consumers on websites like CruisesOnly.com and Travelocity, or through “cruise agencies” like CruiseExperts.com.

What’s more, travel integrators also resell tickets for other companies, and earn a percentage of each sale.

Going Direct to Acquire Huge Cruise Discounts

We can’t overlook the benefits of going direct to a cruise company to get deep discounts.

Granted, it takes street smarts when approaching cruise lines direct. But it can be done! I’m living proof!

For example, I wrote to the Marketing Director at a top cruise line and proposed a win-win deal.

In exchange for a discounted luxury cabin and accommodations, I offered to write about my experience on the trip and post it to the top 20 travel blogs.

In addition, I offered to post my review of the cruise on more than a dozen high traffic travel websites like TripAdvisor.com.

The Marketing Director agreed and I received a 62% discount on a Caribbean cruise, which included a $550 meal voucher!

In order to get deep discounts like this you’ll need to talk to someone in senior management. Entry level managers in reservations, marketing or sales are rarely in a position to offer discounts or negotiate deals.

But don’t worry…I’ve provided contact information for the major cruise lines in this section.

Simply contact senior managers via a snail mail or email and make your request. I prefer snail mail…actually FedEx or PriorityMail….and this almost forces the prospect to read and consider your proposal.

In your letter be sure to focus on “what’s in it for them”.  This will increase the odds of obtaining a deep discount.

For example, you could mention you’ll document your cruise by writing a personal diary, and include HD photos and videos.

You could offer to post your “travelogue” on the top Internet travel and cruise sites. You could even post HD quality videos on YouTube and other popular online video sites.

Another strategy I’ve used is to build a travel website which focuses on cruises!

This would prove to the cruise lines you’re serious about promoting their products.

How to Get Deep Discounts on Luxury Cruises to the Caribbean and Other Exotic Locations

One of the best websites for obtaining deep discounts on cruises is called Cruise Compete.

You’ll find incredible deals on the site…..and I mean incredible!

For example, Carnival Cruises is offering a 7-day ALL INCLUSIVE Rock Cruise to the Caribbean for $848. This cruise typically sells for $2500 and up.

The price includes cruise ship tips ($50pp), alcohol, soft drinks, bottled water, drink tips, taxes, concerts, and autograph sessions.

The price also includes private Deck Parties and the DJ Club.

If a rock and roll cruise is not your idea of fun, then consider the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines New Year’s Cruise onboard the Oasis of the Seas for $1227.

This cruise is typically priced at $4300 on the most popular cruise sites.

And if you haven’t heard…..the Oasis of the Seas is NOT a typical cruise ship!

Oasis of the Seas is a new class of naval-engineering genius. The ship features the first-ever “neighborhood concept” where everyone can find their unique experiences in one of our seven distinct onboard neighborhoods.

There are 28 ultra-modern loft suites and 2,700 spacious staterooms, contained in a16-deck marvel.

That’s just a snapshot of the deep discounts you’ll find on Cruise Compete.

How to Cruise Like a Celebrity At No Cost Whatsoever!

It’s true!

You can cruise to incredible ports-of-call free of charge, if you know the right strategies and tactics to use.

Tactic #1

Lynn Shaw perfected a great tactic for free cruises.

Lynn launched her side venture by reserving a block of cabins on a Carnival Cruise Lines. Then she sent fliers with the cruise information to a group of friends.

Lynn wanted to attract as many people as possible turn them on to a great vacation. But Lynn also knew if she sold enough cabins she would earn free passage under Carnival Cruise Lines “group policy”.

Lynn easily sold 22 people for the Caribbean cruise.

The “group organizer”, Shaw became the “tour conductor.”

Tour conductors work with a travel agency to make all the travel and onboard arrangements; their primary jobs are recruitment and communication.

All you need for this tactic to work is a group willing to travel together.

For example, a family reunion, a birthday, an anniversary, a wedding, a college reunion — or just plain fun! You can also book trips on “theme cruises” like the Rock and Roll Cruise, The Investment Cruise, or The Spring Break Cruise, etc. Sign up enough people and you’ll cruise for FREE!

Tactic #2
If you have an area of expertise, you could use John Hall’s tactic for getting free cruises.

John is a retired Louisiana State University professor of anthropology and geology. He provides cruise passengers with lectures on the characteristics of the destination.

In return, he gets a FREE CRUISE with meals, drinks and other amenities included!

John and his wife, Carol Ann (who helps with the presentations), receive a free cabin and meals, and most shipboard amenities.

Since 2002 John has taken a couple of cruises a year. He’s been to the Caribbean, Panama Canal and Alaska. On the Alaska cruise, John talked about glaciers and the Klondike gold rush.

Cynthia Barnett became a FREE CRUISE regular soon after she retired in 2003 at age 60.

During a typical 7-day cruise, Barnett gives four talks. Cynthia said this is a “great way to get a free vacation. On some cruises, Ive taken family members as my guests."

Current Presenter Opportunities
Arts and Crafts Instructors
Teach craft classes onboard cruises. Projects range from watercolor classes, pottery, scrapbooking to macramé .

Bridge Players
If you enjoy playing bridge you could oversee groups in exchange for your cruise.

Computer Instructors
Most cruise lines actively seek individuals who can present classes on computer basics, the Internet or other related technology.

Tactic #3
Most cruise lines recruit "Gentleman Hosts”!

Gentlemen hosts are typically single men ages 40 to 70 who conduct dance classes or serve as dance partners for single, divorced and widowed female passengers.

However, the “Gentlemen Hosts” must sign an agreement specifying they wont get romantically involved with the guests!

In exchange for “gentlemen host” services men receive a free cruise with all shipboard amenities included!

Tactic #4
You can get a job onboard a cruise line!

You could spend winters in the Caribbean and summers in Alaska or exotic ports in Europe, Australia or New Zealand.

Most people pay between $2,500 and $10,000 to live on the same luxury cruise ships. You can do that for free (you’ll receive free meals and accommodations) and you’ll get paid to cruise!

Can you think of a better summer job for students?

It’s impossible to snag free luxury cruises if you don’t take the right action.

What’s more, you need to be persistent.

Think about this for a second…..

How many people do think would love to receive luxury cruises for free? The answer is a lot!
However, it doesn’t matter how many people want free luxury cruises. They key is having the right information (which you do), and taking the right action.

The other key, as I said is persistence. Don’t stop until you get what you want!

Then write to us about your success.

All you need to do is decide which these tactics works best for you. Then contact the decision maker responsible for each tactic.

For example, if you’d like to receive a free cruise by becoming a “presenter”, then you’ll need to contact the individual at each cruise line responsible for securing “presenters”.

If on the other hand, you’d like to assemble a group tour for your friends, family or business associates, then you’ll need to contact the person at the cruise line of your choice who can set it up for you – and extend your free cruise.

There’s no time for discouragement. The cruise lines desperately need your help! This is one of the best kept secrets in the industry.

Start planning your free cruise today!

You can cruise to exotic locations around the world like a celebrity, and enjoy luxury accommodations - free of charge.
I’ve shown you four ways to do it!

I’ve also included action strategy and contact information at the major cruise lines so you can get started today.

Your humble host,

Marc Charles

OK. You have done all of your research, and decided you really do want to become an owner operator.

Hopefully, you have:
  • Read this entire blog
  • Talked with other owner operators, especially at the company you want to lease on to.
  • Run a "What If" with the Interactive Cost Per Mile Calculator and found you really could make a profit.  Not just a profit, but enough income to pay all of your expenses and to have enough to live on, too.  (Dont forget, you also need to save enough to cover repairs or a major breakdown and enough to live on while you are getting the work done.)
  • Made a business plan.
  • Gotten your family to support you.  You would be surprised how many people quit driving a truck because their family doesnt like for them to be away from home.
  • Decided what kind of entity you want to have.
  • Decided what you will be hauling so you can spec your equipment properly?
Have you found a truck?  Do you need a trailer too?  If you are leasing to a company, many of them have requirements as to how old of truck they will lease.  Be sure to check it out before you buy.
  • Made sure your equipment will pass a DOT, state and company inspection.
  • Talked with a loan officer at the bank, credit union, or loan company that will financing your equipment to see what information they require, and to see if you can even get financing for your equipment?
  • Figured out how you are going to get your Commercial Drivers License (CDL).  Will you be going to a truck driving school?  If not, do you know how you are going to take a road test?
  • Found an accountant or tax professional and got a list of what you need to keep track of before you start buying equipment.
  • Check out Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association (OOIDA) for vast amounts of information.  As before, I recommend that if you do become an owner operator, that you join OOIDA (non owner operators can join, too).
I would advise you to get your CDL first.  If you cant pass your tests, it would be a shame if you had already bought a truck and/or trailer.  Then you would be stuck with having to try to sell them.  Now is not a good time to try to sell your equipment.

You do not have to go to a school to get a CDL.

You do have to take both a written test and a (skills) road test. If you can pass both, then you will be issued a license.

A word of CAUTION, however,  I know you can rent trucks in some states, but in my state that is not possible. I know of no place (and I have looked) where you can rent a truck to take a road test.

Also, we tried to loan our truck to a friend to take his test in, and examiner giving the test wouldnt let him use our truck because he wasnt listed on our insurance. Dont forget, you have to take your road test in the "type of vehicle" you will be operating. In other words, you have to have a "Class A" type vehicle to get a Class A license.

In my state you must supply your own vehicle" and pay the road test examiner $75.00.

Also (any state) before you can even apply for a permit, you must have a long form DOT physical.  Cost depends on the doctor.

Dont forget, if you are applying for your own authority, you have to have a drug and alcohol program in place.  You will be required to have pre-employment  drug testing before you begin to operate your truck.  If you are leasing your truck to a company, they will do handle the drug and alcohol testing.

After you decide what type of entity you will become (sole proprietor, partnership, LLC, corporation, etc.) you may have to get an Employers Identification Number (EIN), also called a Federal Employers Identification Number (FEIN).  Its FREE! and will be issued immediately if you apply online. If you will be a sole proprietor, your EIN will be your social security number, unless you will be hiring employees (including family members), then you will need an EIN.  All others will have to file a IRS Form SS4, or file online at Employer ID Number (EIN).  See: 6) How to Do Bookkeeping and Other Necessary Paperwork Permits and Taxes for more information about sole proprietorships, partnerships, spousal partnerships, employees, and more.

After you get your federal EIN, you will have to apply for a business license with your home state.  (If you are going to be a sole proprietor, you will apply using your social security number, unless you will have employees - then you need an EIN.)  You may also have to apply for a business license with your county (parish), and/or city.  If you are going to be a LLC (limited liability company or LLP (limited liability partnership) the you will also need to have liability insurance.

Are you going to be leasing to a company or getting your own authority?  In some states you will need a USDOT number before you can get your license plates.   ** This requirement is being phased out by September 1, 2012.  Since it is until effect until then, I am not sure if you would be required to have it at this time or not.  Check with you state registration office. **  If you are applying for your own authority, you have to have a USDOT number.

Will you be operating intrastate or interstate? (intrastate is within one state only, interstate is operating in more than one state).

Will you be hauling hazardous materials (hazmat)?  Then you need a hazmat endorsement (any state).  You will also need to have a background check and be fingerprinted and get a Hazmat Endorsement Threat Assessment.  Go to Transportation Security Administration for details.  Cost is $89.25.  It is valid for 5 years, unless you transfer (to another state), upgrade (add endorsements), or renew a license, then you need to go through (and pay) all of this again.

If you will be loading or unloading at ports, you will need a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).  You can get information about this at Department of Homeland Security - TWIC.  The cost is $132.50 and is valid for 5 years.

If you plan to operate in Canada or Mexico, you will also need a passport.  United States government passport information. Cost is $120.00

The answer to each of these questions determines what you need to apply for.  Go to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) registration and licensing for a matrix (list) of the required forms, and to apply online.

You will, of course, need license plates for your tractor and your trailer (if you are purchasing both).  Contact your state Department of Motor Vehicles to find out how to apply.  Unless you are applying for license plates within 30 days of your purchase of your tractor, you will need a copy of IRS Form 2290, Heavy Highway Vehicle Use Tax Return, showing you paid your road use taxes. This is an annual fee.  It is  $550.00 a year for an 80,000 pound vehicle (except logging.)

The type of trucking insurance you need will depend on whether you are leased to a company or have your own operating authority, what type of goods you will be hauling, and whether your equipment is financed or paid for.  Be sure to read all of the pages at the FMCSA website.  Join OOIDA ($45 a year) and they will give you all the help you need to decide what kind of insurance you need.  You can even purchase it from them.  Just as with your personal vehicle insurance, your driving record, type of vehicle and the company you buy from will determine the cost

If you are leasing your truck to a company, you may also be required to be fingerprinted, buy Occupational Accident Insurance, and/or Workers Compensation Insurance.

I know that everyone reading this wanted a nice, neat little list of what you need and how to get it, and how much it would cost.  As you can see, however, there are so many variables, it is impossible for me to tell you exactly what you need.  In addition to the federal requirements, each state has their own rules.

The costs are also impossible to calculate without knowing exactly who, what, where, why and how, but here is a rough list:
  • Money to pay for a truck driving school, if you are going to go to one
  • Down payment(s) for your equipment.
  • Licenses
  • Permits
  • Insurance
  • Enough money to operate until you get your first settlement check
  • Enough money to live on until you get your first settlement check.  I would recommend having enough for at least 2-6 months
  • Money put up for breakdowns (it could happen on your first trip)
If you need to buy products (training manuals or safety and compliance tools), J. J. Keller is a good source for safety and regulatory compliance products and services that help you increase safety awareness, reduce risk, follow best practices, and stay current with changing regulations.  They are used by most of the large trucking companies.

Will 2014 Be the Year You Get Published ! Join the Cult of Getting Published!

Back when I only had three kids and was still hanging on to that dream of being a writer like a dog with a pork chop, I felt lost. But ...

What was I going to write about? How to pick between all the ideas swirling around in my head? Once written, where in the world would I send my stuff?

Well, I finally did get something written and I sent it off to my local regional parenting magazine, Kansas City Parent. The logical thing to do, right? Lots of writers do it (and then get stuck only writing for their local magazine and dont realize there are dozens and dozens more who also want their piece). Once I got my act together I got to see it in the May/June issue of Calgarys child here. After that, it evolved into this and sold more often. And thats just one article. I have about 100 in circulation these days.

But Im getting ahead of myself. Back to WHERE will I send my stuff besides my local place?

Well, I found this outdated, nowhere-near-complete list called Parenting Publications of America online. I used that as a starting point to find more magazines all over the country (and Canada and England and Australia) and started collecting editor email addresses any way I could. It took a lot of hours of research, and all without an Internet connection at home.

After I entered all the email addresses and information into my email account, I went to town writing and submitting. And I had success!

Thats when I decided to write/compile this back in 2009 to help others do the same, and its now in the 5th edition (dont be fooled by more expensive and 1/4 of the size knock-offs that dont include the markets and want you to spend money on the information THEN spend hours of your time hunting down email addresses like tiny little email deer).

So I wanna know: how many ideas do you have? How many excuses do you make for not having time to write and make money getting published because I will shoot them down one by one like little tiny excuse deer, leaving you with no option but to be successful. With this ebook, you have no more excuses. I help you:

  1. come up with ideas
  2. get your piece written
  3. submit to over 200 regional parenting magazines
  4. get to the next level by providing NATIONAL and online parenting magazine information (FamilyFun, Working Mother, Parents, BabyTalk and more)
The only thing you have to lose is your financial worry ... and that ridiculous fear of success.
