INCOME and HOURS REPORT December 2015 WAHM Proofreading Amwriting Fiverr

*Check below the income graphic to find out my hours worked and how that shakes out hourly and after taxes.

Lets get some things out of the way before I show you my rockin infographic I made on the FREE site canva.com. Also, here are the figures for August 2015 at $1,658.

Here is September 2015 at $2,354.

Here is October 2015 at $1,448. (vacation month)

Here is November 2015 at $2,272.

December was crazy busy with proofreading, as youll see on the graphic below. Lots of Fiverr jobs and a couple of outside jobs found me as well. Ive done a ton of BlogHer work but that wont pay until March so youll see a spike then. Trying to get some of the regional parenting magazines to pay is really starting to make me mad and its time to work on the next edition of the book and make sure they get the boot so you dont have similar experiences. Ebooks did well this month only thanks to Kindle Unlimited, where you pay $10 a month and can have up to 10 ebooks on your Kindle at a time, switching them out with others. If people are grabbing my book that way and actually reading the pages, I get paid based on pages read and based on the pot of money of KU subscribers (I am one of them!). So if you get my book on KU, please take the time to flip through it!

WHO am I?
I am the homeschooling mom of 5 kids and wife to Aron. I graduated from community college at the age of 28 with a 2-year Associate of Arts general degree. My work background: waitress, hostess, secretary, office manager at various places. I got many opportunities to learn how to proofread but have no formal training in writing, social media or direct sales. I quit my job in 2001 to stay home with my first son and never went back to work in an office.

WHAT do I do?
Im a blogger, author of books, writer of regional parenting magazine articles, social media maven, proofreader, Jamberry consultant and Younique presenter.

Why I am sharing my income?
I like to show what can be done. I am able to fit in at least 20 working hours per week and usually more while homeschooling my kids, loving on my husband and taking the kids places to have fun (pool, sports, field trips, co-op, playdates, trips, etc.). I am not sharing this to brag or because I think I rock. I am sharing so you know that someone with no English degree can be a writer and a proofreader and make a decent income.

I recently decided to focus on just six main areas of income, as opposed to the way I used to do it, making pennies here and there in way too many online places. Diversification is still very important to online income for me, but by focusing on six areas, balls are not getting dropped and my time is more focused.

** I call Younique and Jamberry income "online" because I dont do vendor events or home parties.

STAY WITH ME HERE!
So what you see above is what I RECEIVED ... in my accounts and in the mail as checks. So a lot of that was EARNED before December. So what I EARNED in December is $2,279 and I worked 100 hours this month EVEN ... no joke! ... and Ill try to get better about tracking time I worked on my ebooks so you can see time put in on the front end of that for income on the back end eventually.

If you want to divide $2,279 EARNED in January by 100 hours worked, you get $22.79 per hour. Yes, that sounds great to be working at home all comfy cozy while my kids sleep and then they wake up and we homeschool and have a blast the rest of the day.

KEEP IN MIND, however, that taxes are not paid on that. And that my health insurance is through my husbands work. If you want to take about 20% off the top of that for taxes, just for fun, then I make $18.23 per hour. Still not bad and I set my own hours and dont work with people face-to-face, which rocks for my ADD!!!! I can make more if I rock magazine articles because I spent an hour or so on one and then if its decent it sells again and again, making my bottom line look AMAH-ZING!

The dollar amounts I show are what I actually RECEIVED in my hot little hand or PayPal account, not what I EARNED because things show up at different times and take different amounts of time to come around. Some months I may have a lot of articles in publications but dont show much income ... thats because checks will often show up later and many at one time.

*This is the book I reference that helps me make money writing articles and also brings in a little bit of income all by itself ... I dont hit the article writing very hard because Im super busy with LIFE and MOTHERING and proofreading!

Bad Goals Versus Good Goals for 2015 Working Writing Homeschooling Personal

Here are some bad goals for me to make for 2015:

  1. Go from 157 pounds to 100 pounds.
  2. Homeschool my kids so they are Harvard-ready by the age of 16.
  3. Make one million dollars.
  4. Travel the world.
  5. Make sure all my friends think I am the bomb.com.

Here are some better goals for 2015:

  1. Try to go to the gym to treadmill twice a week. Eat fewer sweets and cut back to two cups of coffee per day. Rest when I need it because when I am overly tired I tend to eat.
  2. Homeschool my kids consistently every day while still going on outings and field trips and having fun with them.
  3. Make $30,000 working solely from home with Younique, Jamberry, Scripted, BlogHer, regional parenting magazines, Amazon Kindle ebooks, blogging and whatever other small jobs come my way.
  4. Go to Colorado with the family during the first part of the year and New England during the fall.
  5. Make an effort to listen to my friends when they are talking to me. Be less selfish and focus on them more. Talk less and listen more. Be forgiving and less judgmental, yet honest. No small task!

Got goals? Id love to hear about them!

6 Reasons Why Microstock Earning Will be Down in 2015

Microstock sales has been on a declining trend since the middle of 2014. It looks like this dreadful trend will continue to 2015 and more. Below are 5 reasons why this downtrend will continue.

1. The strengthening of US dollar against Euro and other currencies may seems to be positive thing at first. But in reality, buyers are taking a major hit. European, being the biggest buyers of microstock is having a tough time as Euro has hit 11 year low vs the USD. This means, buyers will be buying less stock images because it is much more expensive now. So far, my number of sales has gone down by about 30%.

2. More and more well establish stock factories are producing amazing number of qualities images everyday. To be honest, I am not sure if they could actually cover up the expenses to produce these images given the golden era is over, but this intense competition is not a good thing for lone ranger like us.

3. Another bad news would be iStock HQ is being moved from Canada to USA now. This means, we will have to pay 30% tax to US government if the purchase is being made from USA. Moving forward, I predict my earning will be at least 10% less from iStock now.

4. Stock agencies are getting more and more sneaky by manipulating numbers and playing with their system to benefit themselves more than us, the contributors. Cutting royalties, and introducing confusing sales packages and partners site are some examples of such manipulations.

5. Microstock is now being treated as commodities. The prices are getting hammered due to stock agencies pricing war. Nobody win in this situation, except the buyers.

6. Smaller agencies such as CanStockPhoto, Crestock, GraphicLeftovers, and GraphicRiver are starting to feel the pressure with lack of regular sales. Inactivity is the scariest thing for Internet business. Check out all the 0 sales for new vectors at GraphicRiver http://graphicriver.net/category/vectors?page=1. It is very demoralizing to see such sight. With the weakening of smaller agencies, bigger agencies will soon take even more control. This is not a good thing.

As a conclusion, I predict 2015 will be a pretty bad year for us. There will be a lot of contributors giving up this year. It may no longer be worthy to be a stock vector artist now. In 2009, you can make $100/month. In 2015, you can only make $10/month with the same images.

Making Money in the Pet Market in 2015 by Marc Charles

Making Money in the Pet Market in 2015

 9:13 AM

Dear Friends:

Several people asked if I could reprint the articles or columns I wrote on making money in the pet market.

Ive enclosed some great insight and business savvy advice.

Marc

----

Question: Id like to find a way to make money in the pet supplies market. Im watching other people do it, and I think I can do it much better. Please send me your thoughts on this market.
T.P. Atlanta GA

Answer Marc Charles.....

Hi TP -- thanks for the question and post.

I like the pet supplies market......a lot.

Ive also helped a lot of businesses and entrepreneurs in this market too.

Funny thing though........

One of the most sucessful entrepreneurs in this market started out with one of the most pathetic websites Ive ever seen!

So....dont base everything on a "fancy" website.

Look......in my opinion were in a Depression....we passed the so-called "recession" several months ago.

But the pet supplies market online is still going strong. People will always take care of their animals and pets.

This goes for pet sitting, pet walking and pet spas (Im not kidding!).

Heres part of an article I wrote for Early to Rise on the topic:

____________________________________________

Dear Entrepreneur:

People are crazy about their pets. I see it in our house every day. We spent more money this year on special pet food, toys, and treats than we spent going to the movies ... but I didnt realize this was a $34 billion market!

There are several ways to profit in this market. One of the best is by selling pet supplies, toys, and/or specialty foods directly to consumers.

Youll make even more money by targeting pet lovers who regularly shell out big bucks for these items without hesitation.

In todays issue, Ill focus on three opportunities that will enable you to take advantage of this incredible "pet lovers market."

Heres a short list of products and services that are hot sellers (online and off):

* Pet Pages (pet websites and hosting)

* Toys (Forget about squeaking bones, PetCo.com has more than 10,000 different toys to choose from.)

* Pet Insurance (Im not kidding. Premiums start at $1 a day.)

* Pet Yellow Pages

* Pet Adoption Services

* Pet E-mail Newsletters

* Pet Charities

* Pet Grams (sent via e-mail)

* Pet Gift Cards (huge!)

* Pet Shows (Everybody knows how big dog and cat shows are - but horse and bird shows are even bigger.)

* Pet Vitamins and Supplements

* Organic Pet Food (Our cat wont touch it - but its a hot rising trend.)

If you want to launch a business and profit from this market in the offline world (via direct mail), here are 3 simple steps to take:

1. Obtain a mailing list of recent repeat buyers who have purchased pet supplies via direct mail that are in the price range of the products you want to sell.

2. Obtain the names of a pet food manufacturer and/or supplier who is willing to process your customers orders and drop-ship them for you. Here are two such companies: CarefreeVet and Great Eastern Pet Supply.

3. Obtain preprinted catalogs that you can send to qualified prospects. Most pet supply wholesalers, drop-shippers, and affiliates make these available for you to use.

If you dont want to handle telephone orders yourself, you can retain a call center to do it for you. Youll find dozens of call centers that specialize in this type of thing at DMNews.com, or you can do a quick search on Google.

If you prefer to market pet products and services online, Ive got great news. It has never been easier to sell these things on the Internet. Neeps.com, for example, is a specialty pet products retailer that has been very successful in "niche retail." They are ranked among InternetRetailing.coms Top 500.

The primary mechanism for selling pet products and services online is to attract or drive qualified traffic to your website.

You dont have a website? No problem! There are hundreds of companies online that offer instant e-commerce sites or storefronts.

Whats more, sites like eBay, Yahoo! Marketplace, and Amazon.com Marketplace can deliver mind-boggling targeted traffic to your site. Or you can just post an instant mini-store on these traffic monsters.

Pet supplies affiliate programs are another great option.

Affiliate programs offer one of the fastest and easiest ways to profit from the pet products bonanza.

With an affiliate program, all you do is post a unique URL link in search engine keyword advertisements, on targeted high-traffic websites, or in targeted e-mail newsletters. When someone clicks on that link, theyre brought to a pet supplies website. If that person makes a purchase on the website, you receive a commission.

The Petco.com affiliate program pays an 8% commission on sales up to $3,000 per month, and a 14% commission on sales over $15,000 per month.

PetsMart.com pays 15% on monthly sales over $16,000.

The beauty of an affiliate program with strong companies like Petco and PetsMart is they usually stick by their commission structure. (Unlike many small-time operators that revise the commission structure once you start selling like crazy.)

Whats more, companies like Petco carry name brands and offer thousands of products.

Be sure to check out affiliate management companies like Commission Junction and Linkshare too. These guys make it super-easy for entrepreneurs like you and me to make money. Think of them as one-click affiliate superstores.

Two other concepts in the pet market that I like are pet insurance and pet pages (websites for pets).

PetCarePals.com offers pet insurance for $1 a month. You could either start your own company or joint venture with PetCarePals.com as an affiliate. If you choose to go the joint-venture route, your job would be to drive traffic and qualified prospects to their website via your unique pet insurance URL.

And heres the deal with pet websites ...

You could offer your customers dozens of website templates. You can design these pet pages yourself, obtain copyright-free templates on the Web, or hire a freelance designer to do them for you.

You could give the templates away to pet lovers but charge a small annual hosting fee. Or you could give the hosting away and charge for the templates. Its up to you.

If you give the hosting away, reserve the right to post advertising on the pet websites to get extra income.

And thats just for starters ...

Take a look at MyPetPages.com. They offer free pet websites and memorial pages to an active community of like-minded pet lovers. Plus, they make money on advertising by selling pet products as affiliates and with other value-added services.

As you can see, the profit opportunities in the pet lovers market are enormous - online and offline - and nearly endless.

***Fast-Start Tip***

Determine which niche of the pet market you want to sell into.

If you want to sell pet food, products, insurance, and/or toys online, youll need to build a simple (e-commerce friendly) website. Use successful websites as a guide.

If youre not making or developing your own products, youll need to locate a manufacturer or supplier that will process and drop-ship the orders for you. A quick search on Google will provide hundreds of pet supply drop-shippers.

Your marketing efforts will be concentrated on attracting and driving qualified prospects to your site. And there are many ways to do this. You can advertise your products in pet-related e-mail newsletters and on high-traffic pet-related websites. You can also purchase keywords and phrases in the top search engines (like Google, Yahoo!, Lycos, MSN, AOL, and LookSmart).

Hot Tip: Prepaid keyword advertising is becoming even more popular than pay-per-click (PPC). PPC can be very expensive - especially when youre testing dozens or hundreds of keywords. Prepaid keyword ads enable you to determine the cost of your ads upfront. Two leaders in the prepaid keyword advertising area are ExactSeek and ISEDN.org.

Another option is to become an affiliate with a company like Petco.com. Petco.com offers thousands of brands, a streamlined affiliate program, brand recognition, and a good reputation with customers and affiliates.

If you prefer an offline direct-marketing approach, youll need to get your hands on mailing lists of recent repeat pet-product buyers, a manufacturer or supplier to process your orders and drop-ship your products, and a full-color catalog that you can mail to prospects.

As I said, most pet supply wholesalers, drop-shippers, and affiliates make preprinted catalogs available for you to use. Just make sure the order form in the catalog includes a key code so you are credited for all sales.

You could also partner with veterinarians and provide them with pet products on a wholesale level. You can purchase thousands of top-quality pet products from China for pennies on the dollar.

Check out my Importing Riches program while youre at it. This is the best program of its kind on the market - bar none!

If you live near a top pet supplies direct marketer, consider going to work for them on a temporary basis. If youre lucky, that will put you in a position to receive a million-dollar hands-on education. There may also be an opportunity for you to start or develop a new channel for the company, whereby you would receive a percentage of the profits if its successful.

There you have it!

Now you have everything you need to know in order to profit from the $35 billion+ Pet Lovers Market!

October 2015 Ostentatious Online Income Writing Proofreading Younique Jamberry

Lets get some things out of the way before I show you my rockin infographic I made on the FREE site canva.com. Also, here are the figures for August 2015. Here is September.

Keep in mind I took a week off this month to have a vacation with my family at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park in a cabin in Ashland, Nebraska. We went to Omaha Zoo twice and Lincoln Childrens Museum and the Safari Wildlife Park and just had a relaxing time with no laptop in sight! This explains why my figures are lower than usual. Im hoping to go crazy in November so check back!
