Putting My Book to Work Where Im Published in July 2015 ParentingMagazineWriting

I like to let you know where Im published each month not to brag, but to let you know you can also be doing it. To let you know that if you dont quit and you keep going, you will succeed! This month I had 11 articles in 10 publications and made a total of $345. I would say thats a nice little residual income on pieces I had written months to years ago that still sell from month to month while I have time to focus on writing brand new pieces! Give it a try!

1. After pitching for years to Colorado Parent, they picked up my Slumber Party Dos and Donts and I could not be more excited!

2. Okanagan Child is a publication that I had also never been in, so I am so excited to be in their Summer 2015 issue with my Good Grandparent Guide!

3. Boom! published my Good Grandparent Guide as well

4. Texarkana Parent is a new publication for me to be in and they used TWO of my pieces: Lemonade Stand Learning and what I called When Your Childs Pet Dies.

5. Birmingham Parent used Allowance Conundrum.

7. Neapolitan Family used Birthday Traditions

Vector Sales Earnings in June July and August 2012

Vector sales has been amazing all the way until the last 3 months. Shutterstock has the biggest drop in sales compared to the rest. Many big contributors have been reporting a loss of 30% to 50% at Shutterstock. Other agencies fluctuated, but are still consistent and bearable, except Dreamstime.

In the last 3 months, I had failed to reach a payout ($100) at Dreamstime. This never happened in the last 2 years. The sales at Dreamstime is very disappointing with a lot of subscription sales ($0.35) and hardly any on-demand sales.

Other agencies such as DepositPhotos, CanStockPhoto, GraphicRiver, 123rf are all doing fine with little fallback. I hope they rise further.

iStockPhoto maintains its usual trend although I did not upload much there. This shows that iStockPhoto is consistent and sustainable. The sales is hard to improve, though.

Just like iStockPhoto, Fotolia remains strong, but again, I do not see major improvement despite heavy upload. The Enhanced License purchase at Fotolia is getting rare and almost unseen these days.

I believe the biggest reason for drop in sales (especially in Shutterstock) are due to summer holiday, Euro Cup, and Olympics. Many have complain that Shutterstock screws up its search algorithm making it difficult for buyers to purchase. I do not believe this is true. Looking at the site analytic from compete.com, Shutterstock traffic is dropping dramatically.

Summer holiday is ending soon, and I hope the slowdown is over. We should be seeing major improvement from September and onward. However, if no improvement can be seen at Shutterstock, then we could have a big problem.

The big problem may caused by competition from sites such as DepositPhotos, Fotolia, and ThinkStock which are currently promoting their subscription model heavily.

July 2013 Jammin Monthly Income Report

July was amazing and I made more than in June, with the grand total being $2,001.29.

Here were Aprils numbers, and then Mays numbers. Then here are Junes numbers, and you can see Im increasing my income every month.

Im really excited to be able to make this much from home while being with my kids and still hitting the pool and having fun with my family! This month we got a new gas convection oven and were able to pay almost double on my husbands truck payment, so we are starting to get somewhere!

Disclaimers: For the record, I have no reason to lie to you about any of the income I’m reporting, and the most underhanded, nasty, smarmy thing I’m going to do is give you my referral links so I can make a whopping dime or so off of each person who signs up to do what I’m doing! The dollar amounts I show are what I actually RECEIVED in my hot little hand or PayPal account, not what I EARNED because things show up at different times and take different amounts of time to come around.

I received $1,125 here in July. The majority of my income is from proofreading in the wee hours of the morning when my kids sleep, but I also have gigs for selling my ebooks cheap, writing blog posts, selling reprint articles and promoting things via my social media outlets. I outsourced some jobs this month, and the amount takes that into account.

2. Bubblews. $350.24. Just click on the word Bubblews and you can sign up using my referral link. I think I get two shiny dimes to rub together if you do that, but it will change YOUR life!

3. Regional Parenting Magazine articles, new and reprint: $190 (including $100 in pieces I found just by checking for my name on issuu.com)

4. General blogging for sites not my own. $79

5. PostLoop. $7.08. Im going to send you here because I have a lot of information on this and it needed its own post. 7. Babysitting. Yep, I earn money to babysit while I am also working (I work while all the kids sleep most of the time!). $130

8. Private proofing job: $10, but it really amounts to more than that because it was for a friend and I would not take his money, but he has retaliated by having his wife buy me groceries at Trader Joes twice, so this is more like $50 in income to my family.

9. BlogHer ads income from spring: $20.01

10. Ebooks! $89.96.
