GirlCode Unlocking the Secrets to Success Sanity Happiness for the Female Entrepreneur by Cara Alwill Leyba

I recently checked out Girl Code by Cara Alwill Leyba and really enjoyed it! Sometimes its weird for me to be living in two different worlds: Catholic homeschool mom living in a big family and cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, running errands, setting up social calendars, etc. and then also being a writer of magazine articles, author of books on Amazon, proofreader by profession starting a Perfectly Posh empire while also having my feet in the Younique and Jamberry worlds. Lets just say I come across a lot of females. And for a long time I was coming across the WRONG females, ones that made me say, "I get along better with dudes." But it turns out I wasnt hanging with alphas like myself who knew how to be helpful and kind and honest and who could take suggestions and love and help.

Girl Code is currently free on Kindle Unlimited and also has a paperback version. Its meaty and full of great advice and inspiration for women who are working toward their dreams doing anything ... writing, proofreading, network marketing, starting any sort of business at all. The author interviewed ten other successful women, along with telling her own stories and sprinkling lots of wisdom throughout! This book has major potential to be huge!

I love this quote from the start of one of her chapters:

You can find the author here at her main site and can follow her on all her social media channels from there. She is a Master Life Coach and she also has more books on Amazon, which I am excited to check out! They are called Sparkle, The Champagne Diet and Fearless & Fabulous. I will spare you the super long subtitles, which I am not a fan of, but they are good!

This is the description of her book from the Amazon page:

I am witnessing a phenomenon. It seems as though a growing group women entrepreneurs all around the world has discovered the secret to success and happiness in both their lives and careers. It’s almost as though there is a hidden, underground world of power playing females who have all cracked a magical code: they think positively, they support one another, and they truly believe they can have it all —and you can, too. There is something dynamic that happens when women genuinely show up for each other. When we lose the facades, when we cut the bullsh*t, and when we truly have each others backs. When we stop pretending everything is perfect, and we show the messy, beautiful parts of ourselves and our work that all look awfully similar. When we talk about our fears, our missteps, and our breakdowns. And most importantly, when we share our celebrations, our breakthroughs, and dish on what works. There is no reason to hoard information, connections, or insight. Wisdom is meant to be shared, so let’s start sharing what we’ve learned to make each other better. Let’s start building each other up. Lets live up to our potential and start ruling the world. GIRL CODE is a roadmap for female entrepreneurs, professional women, “side hustlers” (those with a day job who are building a business on the side), and anyone in between who wants to become a better woman. This book will not teach you how to build a multimillion dollar business. It won’t teach you about systems or operational processes. But it will teach you how to build confidence in yourself, reconnect with your “why,” eradicate jealousy, and ultimately learn the power of connection. Because at the end of the day, that’s what life and business is all about.

*I am not trying to be a jerk when I say the author needs to get this book proofread again by a professional (or even just someone with a zillion high ratings on Fiverr like myself) before re-uploading it to Kindle and re-uploading it to CreateSpace for print. It is a great book with amazing messages but the typos distracted me. Like I should "get a message" instead of a massage. Say what? I would be doing readers and the author a disservice if I didnt mention this fact. I also like to ask readers to overlook the typos when reading now because I just called them out and put a review on Amazon about it, so now the author is aware and Im sure, if shes anything like me, shell be scrambling to get it proofread properly. Like when someone reviewed my cookbook and told me I didnt put measurement sizes of cans ... I needed to hear that! Oh, and on her blog, its not SEWING your wild oats, its sowing them. Call me, Cara! I will proofread the shit out of your stuff and make it shine!
